Government may pull the pin on plan to build Needles Gap dam

"THE NSW government has given its strongest indication that the proposed dam at Needles Gap may not go ahead in favour of a dam at another site. 

Earlier this year government officials had announced it would fund a feasibility study into a 90,000 megalitre dam at Needles Gap along the Belubula River that could cost about $150 million.

However this week Deputy Premier Troy Grant and Minister for Natural Resources, Lands and Water Kevin Humphries said the government was considering potential sites along the Belubula River and in the Lachlan River catchment."
